Stefanie Beniek, L.Ac., Dipl. OM
Stefanie Beniek is a licensed Acupuncturist and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine who specializes in fertility, pregnancy, labor and delivery and postpartum care. In addition to her private practice, she is an Acupuncturist with Allina Health at Mercy Hospital’s MotherBaby Center, where she provides care to inpatients in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum.
Stefanie received her Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minnesota and has been specializing in obstetrics and gynecology from the beginning. She is board certified with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and is currently working towards board certification with the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM). Completing advanced training in obstetric acupuncture has truly enriched the depth of her practice.
Stefanie has great passion for teaching patients and other medical providers to understand the breadth Traditional Chinese Medicine has to offer in obstetrics and gynecology. She teaches classes regularly on acupuncture/acupressure during labor & delivery and postpartum recovery. Stefanie was honored to be a presenter at the 2013 American Association of Birth Centers Birth Institute Conference and she will be speaking at the Integrative Fertility Symposium in Vancouver this spring on the integration of acupuncture in labor & delivery and postpartum care.
Stefanie founded Family Tree Acupuncture in 2009. She lives in South Minneapolis, Minnesota with her husband Tim, their energetic sons Bjorn and Rowan, and lovable dog Chelsea.
Kristin Blake, L.Ac., Dipl. OM
Kristin is a licensed Acupuncturist in Minnesota and nationally certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine (NCCAOM). Kristin received her Masters of Oriental Medicine from Northwestern Health Sciences University, where she graduated summa cum laude. During her clinical education she interned at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, the University of Minnesota Medical Center Fairview, and at the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. She also is a Professional Birth Doula, working towards her certification with toLabor (formerly known as ALACE).
Kristin found Chinese Medicine through her own personal health journey, and cares deeply about passing on her passion and enthusiasm for the medicine with all those who she believes would benefit from its care!
Some of her professional interests include integrating research into clinical settings, and serving the profession by advancing public policy and legislation concerning alternative medicine at a local, state, and national level.
Kristin is a member of the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Association of Minnesota, the Society for Acupuncture Research, the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and toLabor. She is always open to talking with potential clients about how Chinese Medicine or Birth Doula Services can be a part of their health care, and encourages those with questions to call or email. She is also available for public speaking to large or small groups that are interested in learning more about Traditional Chinese Medicine or Doula Services.
Nancy Anderson-Bierma is a licensed acupuncturist with a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine from Minnesota Institute of Acupuncture and Herbal Studies and Northwestern Health Sciences University. She graduated in 1998 and and has practiced in the Twin Cities since that time. Nancy is a teacher and clinical supervisor in the acupuncture college at Northwestern Health Sciences University where she has been employed since 2002. Her experience as an acupuncture practitioner and herbalist is broad and ranges from work in hospitals and chiropractic clinics to acupuncture and pediatric acupuncture clinics.
Nancy is board certified with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
Nancy also has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Drake University and is a professional jazz pianist.
For many years, she specialized in teaching music and creativity to young children. Nancy is an artist and loves to spend time with her family, which includes 3 young grandchildren and two cats.
